DesignSphere
We were approached by the Imperial War Museum to create a unique seamless resin floor for their new WW2 gallery. The brief was for a hard wearing bespoke design floor as high volumes of traffic were expected for the gallery, and our DesignSphere system was the best suited option
With the help of Displayways we installed our DesignSphere system in 3 separate areas. The resin floors depict maps of 3 different geographical zones that were significantly affected by WW2, the Pacific, Europe and broader Europe. To create this special floor, we laid the resin on top of Fermacell boards. A unique mesh with the image, provided by Displayways is then placed on top of the resin base layer and transparent resin is poured on top then sealed.
The outcome is definitely unique and eye-catching, it breaks up the gallery into different zones and helps visitors to immerse themselves into the exhibition. The images are also keeping especially well as our DesignSphere system is designed to prevent the image from fading or tranishing over time.
