The Brunel Engine Shed, a historic site of the original High Wycombe station, was revitalised with a sustainable resin floor featuring inlaid tracks that emulate the original railway.
Sustainability was a key consideration of this project, in alignment with the Buckinghamshire New University's values. Our solution was the EPI Superbase Cortica system, a carbon neutral flooring option made from renewable and plant-based materials. This system uses cork as a filler, which combined with the bio-polymer resin, delivers a sustainable floor with a beautiful visual texture.
Our installation featured inlaid track details designed to emulate the original railway tracks of the engine shed. These tracks create a unique finish in keeping with the historical aspects of the building. The Brunel Engine Shed is part of the Buckinghamshire New University campus in High Wycombe.
