Project Focus: London Apartment

A project our team recently loved working on was a beautiful apartment in central London. We installed both resin flooring and wall finishes throughout the apartment to match the client's specification.

The client, and interior designer Ruth Milne, came to us wanting to have a seamless and continuous finish on all the floors in the apartment. The floorplan of the apartment was small, and therefore choosing a seamless finish created the illusion of the space being larger. By preventing the eye segmenting rooms due to changes in flooring, having our resin finish is perfect to create a cohesive space.

The flooring throughout the space is BrecciaSphere Lite Lux, our flooring system that incorporates shredded single-use plastics. The recycled aggregate creates visual noise to mimic a natural stone floor. By choosing our Lux option for our BrecciaSphere Lite system, we were able to ensure the clients specification for underfloor heating compliant was matched to our usual high quality level. The colour Motion Flint worked perfectly to create movement in the floor in natural grey tones, further mimicking the appearance of natural stone floors. Flint was also chosen to compliment the metalwork chosen for the stairs.

Our wall finish was used in both the kitchen and bathroom in the same shade, which helped unify the spaces. By using the same colour in both spaces, the spaces become inherently linked in the mind of any visitors. Natural tones were chosen in both spaces that match the design intent of the space, therefore Michael was the perfect choice for the space.

There was a requirement for underfloor heating with the thinnest solution possible. In this instance, dry screed boards were the best solution to float over the low profile underfloor heating system specified, providing a subfloor thickness of <45mm from the existing joists.
