Grey resin flooring works great as an alternative to polished concrete because of its similar appearance. Resin flooring is able to give the minimalist look of polished concrete and so it is versatile with any type of furnishing desired in the space. The look may be the same as polished concrete, but the properties of resin flooring are very different.

Resin flooring is much warmer than resin flooring as it matches the ambient temperature of the room around it. Polished concrete is well known for being very cold underfoot and so is not always the most comfortable for residential spaces. Resin means that you can feel more comfortable in the space, and reduce your energy bill!

Resin flooring is very durable, meaning that it will last longer than a polished concrete floor. Resin is more crack resistant than concrete is because of the slight flexibility of the material with the correct subfloor. The durability of resin means that the floor will have to be repaired less, meaning the long term maintenance costs are likely to be lower.

Sphere8 resin flooring is more sustainable than polished concrete. Concrete is one of the most unsustainable materials based on its carbon footprint. Our resin is not made of petrochemicals, as many other resin products are, and uses a resin derived from castor beans. We focus on making our materials more sustainable to reduce the impact of the flooring industry, and allow our clients to have more control over the sustainability of their project.
